Diphu: Life seems to be quite normal in Diphu headquarter town of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council administered areas. In other words usual lifestyle has return with a bang in designated Green zone Karbi Anglong district, since last couple of days. The area which till now has remained Corona free without a single positive case detected.

Maximum shops, except few eating joints, mol, beauty parlous, market compounds, regular fish & vegetable market all others business places are doing standard trade. To recompense the discomfort of the stopped up usual fish & vegetable sell points, hundreds of green grocers, fish , chicken, mutton, pork sellers have mushroomed all over the town; municipality footpaths, empty spaces below any edifice in residential areas are temporary sell points of food items and vegetable now.
Impulse of the ongoing lock down can be felt in the Secretariat complex of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Deputy Commissioner’s office, office compound of Superintendent of Police, hospitals and few such places and during the night curfew.
Usual traffic of private and government vehicles, public buses, auto rickshaw, two wheelers and trucks almost everything is on the road, with the exception of means of transportation used by the students.
“Revisit of very natural, usual and typical life style particularly in heaving urban locality cannot be accepted when a pandemic of ultra communicable, transmittable and contagious nature is ravaging havoc all around. Elements of regulation, caution, watchfulness is gone, rather a mood of recklessness and unruliness have gripped the town. The thought of impending danger perhaps have gone with the wind. Situation may take worst turn once the lock down is completely lifted” A highly placed health officer said this on condition of anonymity.
