Howraghat: After union cabinet cleared the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill for tabling in parliament, Howraghat Regional Students Union stage a sit-in-demonstration at Howraghat on Thursday against CAB the controversial bill. Through it, the local body of All Assam Students Union (AASU) warned the BJP-led central and state government and demand to withdraw the Bill. The protesters said that Assam is no longer a dumping ground for illegal Bangladeshi. Center trying to play the politics in the name of religion. Though, AASU delegation meet the union home minister and discussed on it, but they did not get positive response from him. So the entire North Eastern region has no option but only agitation. Until and unless the bill is withdrawn the agitation will continue across NE region, they added.
