Guwahati : Altogether 13 loaded wagons of a goods train detailed between Naharkatiya and Duliajan station under Tinsukia division of N F Railway Sunday early morning affecting train services between lower and upper Assam due to suspension of trains for four days till the repairment of the tracks. According to N F Railway sources said 13 mixed goods laden wagons of the train derailed at about 6-40 am though it’s engine was not affected.
The cause of the derailment will be ascertained after enquiry, the sources said. Chief Public Relations Officer Subhanan Chanda said accident relief trains with crane have reached the site from Tinsukia and another relief train from Lumding will also reach the site shortly to start track clearance work. Senior railway officials from Tinsukia division are at site monitoring work, Chanda said. Due to the derailment, the CPRO said running of trains over the Tinsukia – Namrup – Simaluguri mainline (single line) section is blocked. As a result of the derailment a number of trains have either been diverted via Simaluguri – Sibsagar Town – Dibrugah section or partially cancelled/cancelled.
The 14056 Delhi-Dibrugarh Brahmaputa mail which started on December five and six will be diverted via Simaluguri – Sibsagar Town – Dibrugarh, while the 14055 Dibrugarh – Delhi Brahmaputa mail of December eight will be diverted via Dibrugah – Sibsagar Town – Simaluguri.
The 12423 Dibrugarh – New Delhi Rajdhani Express of December 8 will be diverted via Dibrugah – Sibsagar Town – Simaluguri and the 12424 New Delhi – Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express which started on December 7 will be diverted via Simaluguri – Sibsagar Town – Dibrugah, Chanda said.
The 15930 Dibrugarh – Tambaram express of December 8 will be diverted via Dibrugah – Sibsagar Town – Simaluguri, while the 15959 Howrah – Dibrugarh Kamrup Express which started on December 7 will be diverted via Simaluguri – Sibsagar Town – Dibrugah.
The 15603 Guwahati- Ledo Intercity Express of December 7 will be diverted via Simaluguri – Sibsagar Town – Dibrugah-Ledo; the 15941 Jhajha -Dibrugarh express which started on 06.12.19 will be diverted via Simaluguri – Sibsagar Town – Dibrugah.
Stating the 15909 Dibrugarh – Lalgarh Avadh Assam express of December 8 will be diverted via Dibrugah – Sibsagar Town – Simaluguri, he said the 15929 Tambaram – Dibrugarh Express which started on December 5 will be diverted via Simaluguri – Sibsagar Town – Dibrugarh; the 15910 Lalgarh -Dibrugarh Avadh Assam express which started on 5.12.19 diverted via Simaluguri – Sibsagar Town – Dibrugarh; the 15604 Ledo – Guwahai Intercity express of 08.12.19 will be diverted via Ledo- Dibrugah – Sibsagar Town – Simaluguri.
The 15967 Rangiya- Dibrugarh Intercity express of 08.12.19 will be diverted via Dibrugah – Sibsagar Town – Simaluguri; the 15960 Dibrugarh – Howrah Kamrup express of 08.12.19 will be diverted via Dibrugah – Sibsagar Town – Simaluguri; 13282 Rajendranagar – New Tinsukia express of 07.12.19 will be diverted via Simaluguri – Sibsagar Town – Dibrugah -New Tinsukia; the 55901 Lumding- Tinsukia passenger of 08.12.19 will remain partially cancelled between Mariani and Tinsukia; the 55902 Tinsukia- Lumding passenger of 08.12.19 will start from Mariani and remain cancelled between Mariani and Tinsukia; the 55914 Tinsukia – Jorhat Town passenger of 08.12.19 will remain cancel.
