During his response to the no-confidence motion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi pledged to work alongside the state government to restore peace in Manipur, a state currently plagued by violence.

He emphasized that those responsible for heinous crimes against women would face severe punishment. Modi also criticized Rahul Gandhi for his remarks about ‘Bharat Mata’, questioning why some individuals wished her harm. He expressed his disappointment, stating that these comments had deeply hurt the sentiments of all Indians. Modi went on to accuse the Congress party of dividing the nation and engaging in politics rather than taking action to address issues.
He assured the people of Manipur that both the central and state governments were collaborating to ensure the culprits were held accountable and peace would be restored. Additionally, Modi highlighted his government’s efforts in developing the northeastern region, highlighting his numerous visits to the area and those made by his ministers. He also criticized the Congress government, citing instances where they had used the Air Force against citizens in Mizoram in 1966 and launched a military attack on Akal Takht in the 80s.
