On Monday, a horrific accident took place on the Dhakuakhana-Ghilamara state highway, within the jurisdiction of Dhakuakhana police station. In this accident, three people lost their lives, including a young girl who was seriously injured.
According to the description of the incident, a collision occurred between a bike coming from Dhakuakhana and a bike heading towards Ghilamara in hiloidari village. Due to the high speed of the vehicles, the collision resulted in severe damage and caused the unfortunate deaths of two individuals.
A local rice trader, a woman, and a young girl were injured and admitted to the under-equipped Dhakuakhana Civil Hospital, where the woman unfortunately passed away. After initial treatment, the injured were referred to Assam Medical College for advanced medical care.
The deceased and injured have not yet been identified by the authorities. Soumendu Shukla Bidya, the Sub-Divisional Officer, the acting magistrate, and Deenesh Medhi, the Officer-in-Charge of Dhakuakhana Police Station, are present at the accident site and overseeing the post-mortem examination of the deceased and the medical arrangements for the injured.
It is notable that the bike, which was heading towards Gogamukh, was being ridden by a 4-year-old girl along with her parents, and although the parents suffered minor injuries, the unfortunate girl was seriously injured. The bike involved in the incident was completely destroyed.
