At least seven people were injured and one was killed after the bus of a private travel agency crashed into a truck trailer on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway near Borghat early Sunday morning, according to the state highway police. The bus was on its way to Pune from Mumbai when, at 1:40am, the driver lost control and collided with the trailer, the police reported.

According to the highway state police, Sirish Rajaram Dhekale (43) lost control of the private bus (MH09 GJ 9630) and crashed into a trailer truck, resulting in the complete destruction of the left side of the bus. Unfortunately, the second (alternate) driver, Raju Gavade (40), a resident of Sangali, was killed in the incident.
Right away following the mishap, emergency crews, such as the state police, Borghat police, Delta Force members, Devdoot team, and others were mobilized.
The police reported that Shailesh Shetke, Pradip Shivaji Chavan, Sudhir Bhagwat, Rahul Bhagwat, and Rohit Bhosale, who were injured in the accident, were taken to the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Kamothe, Navi Mumbai, while Senha Mehta and Jitesh Chaturvedi were admitted to the Lokmanya Tilak Hospital in Pune for further medical attention.
The accident caused traffic delays on the highway for a while, but the highway police managed to get the vehicles removed with the use of a hydra and the traffic was cleared.
