Guwahati: Nadda threw the challenge at the Congress leader from the mammoth rally in Guwahati of the BJP booth level presidents who came here from across the state.
“I challenge Rahul Gandhi to speak in ten lines about the CAA and to say in two lines what he opposes in the Act”, said the BJP leader.
“He (Rahul) does not know anything. He tells people they will be deprived of their passports and Aadhaar cards. But the CAA is for giving and not taking away citizenship”, Nadda said.

“There is fault in your thinking as you are inspired by politics. You don’t see the nation but see only votebank politics which you put above the nation. Unlike them, the country is above vote for the BJP as we are inspired by the love of the nation”, he asserted.
Accusing Congress of shedding crocodile tears in the name of CAA, the saffron party leader claimed: “your son (Rahul) in Parliament does does not make statements but instead gives slogans. You send him to speak there but he does not speak. I take pity on the party and its leadership’s mental ability”.

“The Accord was signed in 1985 and you slept till 2017 despite ruling the country for 70 year. You even had a chief minister here. But BJP had to come and wake you. You are in pain because the chair was taken away from under you”, Nadda said.
He also challenged the Congress leaders to go to the camps where such people were sheltering to see the condition of those non-Muslims who fled Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh due to religious persecution.
The BJP working president referred to Mahatma Gandhi earlier saying shelter be given in India to such persecuted people, followed by prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru wanting to give relief funds to them and former Congress prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh saying arrangements be made for them in India.
“Where will these people who fled to India go. Narendra Modi and Amit Shah brought this amendment in the Act to allow them to live with dignity and honour”, Nadda said.
The BJP leader sought to allay the fears of the people of Assam that the law will threaten their language, identity and culture saying if the CAA has been brought in, the clause 6 of Assam Accord granting them constitutional safeguard will be implemented in letter and spirit as it is “the responsibility of the BJP to do so”.
BJP leader Ram Madhav also speaking said:”those opposing the CAA either do not understand it fully or do not understand it, while others don’t want to understand it.”
Accusing the Congress of instigating people with lies and false propaganda about CAA in the rest of India, Madhav asserted in Assam people have doubts and apprehension about their language, identity and culture being affected by the law.
He assured that the BJP workers here have the responsibility to remove those fears and assure people that CAA will not and never harm their interests and safeguard them.
Claiming Congress has been spreading false propaganda that crores of Bangladeshis will come to Assam due to CAA, he said no new ones will come in but give citizenship to those who are already here fleeing their countries due to religious persecution there.
