A tragic incident occurred in Kheroni, West Karbi Anglong district, where two teenagers drowned while bathing in a pond. This heartbreaking event took place in Dikhreng village, under the jurisdiction of Kheroni Police Station.
It is noteworthy that two teenagers named Birne Inghi (12) and Williamson Ronghang (10) tragically drowned in a pond. According to the information received, these boys from Dhikreng Village in Kheroni had gone to bathe in a local pond during the afternoon. Unfortunately, due to the pond being filled with water, they were unable to get out and succumbed to drowning.
As a result, both of them drowned. Meanwhile, the family along with local people rescued the boys and took them to Kheroni hospital, but the doctors declared both dead. It is noteworthy that Birne Inghi, a 12-year-old from the Kheroni area and the entire Karbi Anglong district, was the son of veteran journalist Biren Inghi. This incident has cast a shadow of mourning over the entire district.
