In the early hours of Tuesday morning, Diphu came alive with a vibrant showcase of unity and community spirit as the Karbi Anglong district administration organized a “Run for Unity” to honor the birth anniversary of India’s Iron Man, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The event, which kicked off at 6:30 AM from the bustling KASA Stadium, was flagged off by Karbi Anglong District Commissioner Smti. Nirola Phangchopi, and saw the enthusiastic participation of over two hundred individuals.
The “Run for Unity” was more than just a race; it was a poignant reminder of Sardar Patel’s vision of a united India. Participants, ranging from local residents to high-ranking officials, gathered at the Diphu stadium in a collective effort to commemorate a leader whose ideals continue to resonate across generations. The run extended from KASA Stadium to DMCH in Diphu city, creating a vibrant spectacle of camaraderie and mutual respect.
Among the notable attendees were Karbi Anglong District Police Superintendent Sanjiv Kumar Saikia, several high-ranking district administration officials, the general secretary Dr. Pankaj Teron, and district sports officer Rilip Ronghang. Their presence underscored the importance of the event and highlighted the unified front that the district aims to project in alignment with Sardar Patel’s enduring legacy.
In an interaction with journalists, District Commissioner Smti. Nirola Phangchopi, articulated the significance of the event, emphasizing the two-day program organized in honor of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary. “This initiative, called the Run for Unity, aims to bring everyone together as a symbol of peace and harmony,” she stated, reflecting the underlying message of solidarity that the event sought to convey.
