
In a significant initiative to enhance tourism and foster rural development, Assam Cabinet Minister Ranjeet Kumar Das recently led a high-level review meeting at the Kazir Ronghangpi Guest House in Taralangso, Diphu. The meeting aimed to position Karbi Anglong as a premier tourist destination in Assam and beyond.

Minister Das, who is responsible for the departments of Panchayat and Rural Development (P&RD), Tourism, Law and Justice, and the General Administration Department (GAD), assessed the progress of various key departments. He was joined by local MLAs, including Bidya Sing Engleng, Dorsing Ronghang, and Raju Tisso, along with KAAC Chairman Avijit Kro and other Executive Members.
The meeting highlighted the potential of Karbi Anglong’s natural beauty and rich cultural heritage to create a sustainable tourism economy. Participants discussed strategic plans for infrastructure development, the promotion of eco-tourism, and marketing efforts designed to attract both national and international visitors.
Also present were the District Commissioner of Karbi Anglong and senior officials from various districts and departments, indicating a unified effort toward comprehensive development in the region. The Assam Government envisions showcasing Karbi Anglong’s unique landscapes, biodiversity, and cultural traditions while ensuring community involvement and the upliftment of rural areas.
