Kazirnga led a strong protest against CAB today at Kohora Chariali. A bunch of indigenous of the world heritage place including Assamese with her folk tribes, Marowari, Bihari, Bengali, Gorkha and other communities, print and electronic media journalists, media organizations like Kazirnga Regional Journalists’ Association, Kazirnga Live News Portal, leaders and members of different parties and organizations successfully joined the gathering standing against CAB and uttered in unison “We don’t want CAB”, “Jai Aai Axom”, “Bangladeshis go back” etc Dharnas.
Distinguished figures like journalists Neelapadma Sharma, Swapan Nath, Azanta Talukdar successively, AJYCP leader Ananta Gogoi, teachers Bhuban Khatiyara and Gitirekha Dutta, ATASU leader Utpal Gogoi, promising young actor-director Tarun Teertha Saikia, AATSA leader Anit Garh, AGP leader Phatik Borah, AASU leader Bitupon Gogoi, KMSS leader Deep Gogoi etc. raised their strong voice in their speeches protesting the act for the common awareness and placed their suggestions about what to do in the circumstance.
Speakers also appealed to the gathering to lead a peaceful and democratic protest. It is notable that AGP leader Rehan Ali publicly and boldly declared his definite resignation even from the primary membership of the party as his protest against CAB in his speech in addition to the announcement of his strong participation in this Anti-CAB struggle. The mob also witnessed the support of the rising actor-artist Dolan Bahek, journalists Polima Chetia Basumatari, Bitupan Bora, Bitupan Majhi, Ranjit Rajak and many other renowned personae to the said protest.
A mass resolution “the Act CAB is a tremendous threat to Assamese region overall and not to accept this act anyhow” was taken. In respect to both the recent martyrs Deepanjal Das and Sam Stafard, people observed a mourn for a minute. The whole protest was initiated by a promising young journalist Dhrubajyoti Saha. Reciting of the Axom Xangeet in unison concluded the protest.
