Guwahati : Thousands of people from all walk of life irrespective cast,creed,religion joined the anti Citizenship Amendment Act satyagraha organised by Nalbari district unit of AASU at Nalbari town today.

About twenty thousand protesters tiding gamocha on their heads took part in the rally and raised their voices against the black Act for the people of Assam.The protesters first gathered at the Swahid Bhawan premises and on the eintire PNC road where a protest meeting was held.
Addressing the protest meeting the organising secretary of AASU Himan Barman,central executive Bhabajit Bezbaruah,former Education Minister Ramani Barman,secretary of Nalbari Harimandir Committee Nagen Deka,Tapan Kumar Sarma,president of Nalbari Jilla Karmachari Parisad, president of Nalbari district unit of ACTA,widow of a martyr of Assam Movement Bibharani Kalita, secretary of Garia Maria Deshi Jati Parisad Aftab Ali,activist of Nalbari Jila Mahila Samiti Kabita Choudhury,president of Nalbari district unit of AASU Gunajit Pathak,president of Khilanjia Musalman Parisd Haidar Ali strongly opposed the Citizenship Amendment Act in the state.
They also took out a protest march from Nalbari Swahid Bhawan to DC Office covering all the main roads of the town.The two killometres long protest rally posed a great impanct on the anti CAA stir.The protesters also staged dharna before the DC Office and finally submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister through the deputy commissioner to repeal the black Act.About 45 organisations of the district including the students from the college of Nalbari town joined the rally.
