A team of 20 CRPF personnel and local police station staff, led by Jone Das Adl.SP Security of Karbi Anglong, conducted a secret operation near the Khatkhati area. They set up a check post and spread a rope across the Dimapur-Kohima road. After inspecting vehicles passing by, they took a Maruti car (registration number NL-04-4790) into custody.
On questioning the two female passengers, they searched the car and found 47.9 grams of suspected heroin. As a result, Papori Das (25) of Narayanpur village, Lakhipur district and Pritam Prakash Neog (34), son of Mr. Nirmal Chandra Neog, were arrested. Witnesses have testified and the investigation is ongoing.
