In a significant operation near the Assam-Nagaland border in Khatkhati today, a substantial quantity of dry Opium and poppy plants were seized from a truck. According to available information, during a regular inspection, the authorities, including SDPO of Bokajan, intercepted a truck with the registration number NL-07-AA-3057.

Upon searching the truck’s cabin beneath a blanket, approximately 6.058 kg of Opium was found, meticulously wrapped in brown adhesive tape. Similarly, another truck with registration number BR-06-GF-6731 was also searched, leading to the discovery of approximately 1.172 kg of dry poppy straw concealed behind the driver’s seat, wrapped in black polythene.
The poppy plants seized were of a dark black color. The authorities have detained both the truck drivers and their helpers for further investigation, keeping the seized trucks, and the individuals involved in the operation are identified as Tarabir Gurung (32), Sagar Dhungana (22), Ganesh Yadav (30), and Sunil Kumar Singh (30).
