Under the leadership of Karbi Anglong District commissioner Nirola Phangchopi and superintendent of police Sanjiv Kumar Saikia, a team visited Dimapur regarding a proposal to construct a Nagaland police camp on Assamese soil, based on a complaint by a local leaseholder at the Rongapahar crossing on the Assam-Nagaland border. During the visit, both the Karbi Anglong and Dimapur administrations presented their respective land maps of the border area at the site.
The Dimapur administration claimed that the disputed area falls under the Nagaland land survey, while the Karbi Anglong administration presented the Survey of India’s map. However, the Dimapur administration did not agree to determine the land boundaries as shown in the Survey of India map. After extensive discussions, both parties agreed to hold a meeting at the office of the Divisional Forest Officer of Nagaland in Dimapur to further resolve the issue. The meeting was held at 2 PM, and the following officials from Dimapur were present: Deputy Commissioner Dr. Tinujongshi Chang, NCS; M. Halo Hamceo; and divisional forest officers from both sides.

The Karbi Anglong administration and officials were also present. The meeting emphasized mutual understanding and cooperation for resolving issues. Regarding the disputed area, both sides discussed various incidents that occurred in the border region and shared reports from both police administrations. They agreed on maintaining proper communication to reduce such incidents.
The meeting concluded with the decision to formally divide the border land map between the two administrations. Additionally, it was decided to request the Survey of India, Assam Survey, and Nagaland State Survey administrations to conduct a final inspection of the border map.
