Guwahati : PWD(NH & Building division),Assam has organized this two days program of Seminar cum Exhibition at Assam Engineering Institute Playground starting from today itself.The Chief Minister of Assam ,Sarbananda Sonowal has attended as Chief guest of the occasion while PWD,Health and Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has attended the same as guest of honour.
The souvenir of this prestigious program has been released by the Chief Minister and minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has inagurated the grand exhibition. More than 120 companies across the country as well as of the globe related with construction have participated here in this exhibition. Six different seminars on different topics are the main attraction of this program .Famous personalities,experts of different fields participate at those seminars.The purpose of this program is to create awareness and provide knowledge of modern technology and modern construction materials among the people mainly stakeholders who are mostly related to construction division. Keeping in mind, the various problems we face in day today life ,topics are selected on role of motor vehicle act 2019 and road safety audit towards making our roads safer, Construction of elevated corridor in congested city environment , Latest management approaches of Engineering Problems as per Project Management Institute guidelines,Restoration of city Rivers and Lakes through natural process,Application of Remote sensing in civil engineering etc.
The main objective of the two day event is to highlight the services rendered by the oldest engineering department of Assam and to create awareness on the latest technological developments and management capacity building of the departmental engineer,through sharing up to date knowledge.The organizer i.e. PWD (Roads and NH division ) of Assam government hopes that this program of seminar cum exhibition will help the people of North East region in every aspect like socially,economically,technically etc.It will also help the stakeholders of construction section to enlighten themselves and to get knowledge at their own place and to gain practical knowledge from experts and exhibitors. Being the chief guest of the prestigious event Chief Minister Mr. Sarbananda Sonowal briefly describe the steps taken by Narendra Modi Government to build Guwahati as the centre of South East Asia. Chief Minister also urged the Assam Public Works Department to work towards this vision to attract the 80 crore population of South East Asia region. Attending the occasion, PWD, Health and Finance Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma advised the engineers to be studious and to use modern technology and materials to achieve the frontlines in the world. He also added that the highly educated engineers of PWD department can take the initiative of using these modern techniques and materials in Assam. He advised to make their attendance mandatory in the seminars.
